I’m here at Mr. Thomas’ and still had to take a second to remember that Karim’s not on the Gryffindor team anymore … Allison thought as she shook her head lightly. It had been strange to hear the last two weeks of the first Quidditch game of the season, knowing that she could actually root for her own house again considering her boyfriend wasn’t at the school any longer, let alone the team. Either she had a lot on her mind, or it was just one thing she didn’t think of getting used to and making the realization of.
Then again, she never really cared for the sport anyway before Scorpius and Karim. She just went to cheer them on. She didn’t even know who was on the Slytherin team that year, given most of its players had graduated the year prior …
Karim kissed his girlfriend back, smiling and began transitioning his movements into the new song. He grabbed Allison’s hands, trying to get her to move with him.
Allison felt Karim take her hands and guide her a little bit, submitting to his hold with a grin. She tried to follow him as she asked with a slight chuckle at herself, “How do you dance to something like this!?” Most of the students dancing were just stepping side to side or swaying their hips with a few arm movements. Was that it?
Karim grinned, “Took us a few years, but we finally got it done.”
"Hm …" Allison smiled mischievously as she looked up to him before pulling him down for a kiss. A song called Speakeasy Sleazy was next to play, and although Allison didn’t know it, The song immediately caught her attention. She didn’t know if Karim wanted to continue dancing or not, but she sort of wanted to stay for that song … even if she didn’t really know how to dance casually …
"Yeah, the portfolio is great, it’ll look a lot more professional than my old one." he grinned.
As the slow song ended, Allison thought to herself that she was glad it all went over so well with him and that he liked everything. He may not have wanted his birthday to be anything special, but she still wanted to give him his gifts; whether before his birthday as she had, or during Christmas even.
"… Look at that. We finished a slower dance with music and without any interruptions,” she laughed faintly.
Karim nodded, “Yeah, it was really good, Love. Dad got a piece and said it reminded him of mum’s. See, I told you that you could cook.”
"Well …" her nose wrinkled a bit, "that batch was the third or fourth I tried to make. It wasn’t coming out the first few times. Too sticky, too chewy … But good, I’m glad you liked them," Allison nodded back. "What about the portfolio? Did you like that? It looks more like a briefcase or something on the outside, but I reckon it’ll wear pretty well, and I thought it had a pretty good amount of space inside like your old one."
"Hm…I don’t know about that, maybe I’ll love Paris too much." he chuckled.
"Oho," she raised her eyebrows and scoffed jokingly. "Well, what does that mean, then? We’ll find this abandoned place, fix it up until you go to Paris, and then you’re going to just stay there instead, hm?"
"Yeah, he said I looked like…an interesting work of art." he laughed.
"… I’m just going to take that as a compliment," she smiled and shook her head as she continued to sway with him. After all, he wasn’t supposed to be ‘cute’ or even well put together, really. That’s what she thought when she tried searching for the spells, at least.
"How do you think Danhya, Taylor and Kamil will react?"
"He likes to paint in his spare time, though the paintings don’t really look like much." he chuckled. "It’s mostly finger painting, pretty primitive, but it keeps him happy and that’s all that matters."
Allison took his hands and continued to move around, grinning as she created a scene in her head of Karim as Wolf Boy, finger painting. “Will Wolf Boy give something to Karim so Allison can see it this weekend coming up?”
"Ah, so Red doesn’t care what Wolf Boy looks like, good to know." he chuckled and pulled her onto the dance floor, "Now Wolf Boy wants to dance."
Allison continued to grin as she was pulled to dance with him. Things were going well, even if they had only been there for a minute or two. They both were in good moods, and they hadn’t fought since the weekend prior … The Slytherin was feeling pretty good about the night ahead.
"Red isn’t too much of a dancer either," she stated as she started twisting her hips a bit to the swing-sounding music, "so will Wolf Boy will making fun of her too?"
"Might as well put on a show, eh?" he joked, laughing. "Wolf Boy the dancer."
"Probably should take someone’s camera come time, then," she shook her head and laughed softly with him. "Take up at the very least two pages in our scrapbook. Maybe I can even paste them around the school tomorrow!”
"Well, Love…you are a bit challenged in the dancing department." Karim was joking of course, Allison had improved quite a bit, and he remembered his slow dances with her through the years had been pretty smooth.
Both of Allison’s eyebrows raised as she looked up to Karim in disbelief, but continuing to grin. “So, you think you’re going to upstage me, huh? Going to do those flips of yours? Choreograph a dance while we’re here?”
"Will do." Karim nodded and smiled a bit, "So did you want to mingle, or would you like to dance?"
She didn’t know if Karim was still afraid of spiders or not, but she made sure - just with him in mind - that there weren’t too many spiders on the webs around the Great Hall. They were fake, but they did look real, and they only moved on the web they sat on. Of course, there was much more webbing around the room than the spiders and some of the webbing even glowed slightly in the darkened room.
"You wanted to see Danh, Kamil and Taylor, didn’t you? We can try to find them and you can talk to them for a bit first if you want. We can dance afterward."
"Well, they definitely put some effort in, huh? How much did you contribute to the setup?" he questioned, with a small smirk, knowing his girlfriend wasn’t fond of a few of her prefect duties.
"I watched most of the time," she grinned proudly, "or I yelled at people who weren’t doing it right, which were the new fifth years. But I did actually help with the spiders and web around the left wall walking in, so comment on them when you see them,” she nodded.
